Next week is going to be so much fun. I’ve got three gigs, one listening party and an immersive digital treasure hunt called Miki Rapu Waiata: Taonga (Thanks to Matariki Festival 2025, Eke Panuku, Binge Culture, PickPath, Ngā Taonga Sound and Vision & Te Māngai Paho) .
I love Matariki and I feel so grateful for this opportunity to offer a lot of different things for all walks of life and age ranges. It’s the first time I’ve been the ‘host’ of a gig series before and I have been really enjoying bringing together all of the threads that make the magic happen.
The main reason for any of this is to gather like minds and enjoy ourselves. Regardless of what you’ll be doing during this time, I hope that you spend it with people that you love in a wonderful place.
I’ve had a cool week talking about the new track Urban Planning on 95bfm, Radio One and Tahi FM. Thanks for having me!
So here is a breakdown of all the fun things we have in store and links for your enjoyment.

And finally…
20 June - 20 July | Miki Rapu Waiata: Taonga | Matariki Festival 2025 | Free
An eye-catching installation in Te Komititanga Plaza will alert passersby to Miki Rapu Waiata: Taonga, an app-based audio experience audiences can choose to do at any time.
From this starting point, download the locally developed PickPath app and be taken on a journey to significant points around the waterfront, where you will uncover hidden tracks, including archival recordings of well-known waiata Māori provided by Ngā Taonga Sound and Vision and new covers with a contemporary twist.
The covers honour the archival pieces of history and give them a modern perspective, showing the relevance of their message in this era.
This project was made with support from and collaborations with Matariki Festival 2025, Auckland Council, Eke Panuku, Binge Culture, PickPath, Te Māngai Paho and Ngā Taonga Sound and Vision.
